The "…Baby One More Time" hitmaker expressed regret for sharing the news too soon. "This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news," she continued.
In the statement, however, Britney noted that she and fiance Sam Asghari will keep on trying to build a family together. "Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family," the 40-year-old singer assured, "We are grateful for all your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment. Sam and Britney."
In the caption of her post, the "Hold It Against Me" hitmaker seemed to remain optimistic. "We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family. Thank you for your support," she wrote. Sam also commented on her post, "We will have a miracle soon."
