When talking about her mental health journey, the 'Dancing with the Stars' pro admits her unhealthy addiction to focus on one negative comment often ruined her day.

AceShowbiz - Cheryl Burke has gone candid about her need to detox herself from social media. When discussing about her mental health journey, the two-time champion of "Dancing with the Stars" revealed that her decision to steer clear of social media is closely linked to her unhealthy addiction of "self-sabotage."

During a Wednesday, May 11 appearance on E! News' Daily Pop, the two-time champion on the ABC dance competition series talked about what led her to quit social media. "I am an addict, and sometimes, I'm addicted to, in a way, self-sabotage," she stated, "It is not healthy for me because I will focus on just the one negative comment, and it'll ruin my day, still. So, until then, I might as well just lay off of it, right?"

Aside from laying off of social media, Cheryl also told hosts Justin Sylvester, Teri Hatcher and Loni Love that "transcendental meditation" and therapy have helped her dealing with mental health issues, including her divorce from actor Matthew Lawrence. "I'm a huge advocate for therapy," the dancer said.

Elaborating more, the 38-year-old pro dancer noted that she and the "Boy Meets World" actor had couples therapy before getting engaged. "Couples therapy isn't a guaranteed tool that will just be like, 'Voila, you're ready to go,' " she divulged, "I think open communication is so important because we can get so hidden behind the feelings and the emotions that come up."

Cheryl later opened up about feeling lonely after splitting up from Matthew. The estranged couple got divorced back in February, after three years of marriage. "I don't think I had any expectations other than the goal was never to get divorced, right?" she confessed to the hosts.

"I think with that comes sadness and pain and fear of being alone and having to kind of start a new chapter," Cheryl explained further. "Even though that can be exciting, it's also really sad. I'm still in the grieving process, at the moment."
