AceShowbiz - Post Malone is going to be a first-time father. When announcing that he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, the "Rockstar" hitmaker says that he is "excited" for the next chapter in his life.

In a statement to TMZ, published on Tuesday, May 3, the 26-year-old musician said, "I'm excited for this next chapter in my life, I'm the happiest I've ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad." He went on to add, "Time to take care of my body and my family and friends, and spread as much love as we can every day."

Sources close to Post, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, told the outlet that he and his girlfriend celebrated the news with a party in Southern California this past weekend. Close family and friends were in attendance, explained the insiders.

As for the identity of the expectant mom, Post seems to be keeping that a secret although he was photographed holding hands with a mystery woman in January 2021 while shopping in West Hollywood. "We are told she's not someone who has spent any time in the spotlight, the two have been happy privately building their relationship, which will soon turn into a family," reported the outlet.

Post previously dated Ashlen Diaz for three years before he began dating his current girlfriend. In November 2018, it was reported that the "One Right Now" rapper and Ashlen had called it quits. "Post loves Ashlen and cares about her but lives his life as though he's a rock star. He's still so young," an insider told Us Weekly at the time.

After breaking up with Ashlen, Post shared about the hardships that came with being in a relationship while on the road as a musician. "It's tough having a balance, between dedicating my life to music and dedicating time for Ashlen," he said during an interview with "The Breakfast Club". "It's tough because you want to get into the studio, you want to do as good music as you can, sometimes you're really busy."
