The 50-year-old NBA legend, who was married to the TV personality from 2002 to 2011, reveals in a new interview that they called it quits because of something that he did.

AceShowbiz - Shaquille O'Neal believed that he was the one to be blamed for the end of his marriage to Shaunie O'Neal. When opening up about their divorce, the NBA legend admitted that it's all his fault they're no longer together.
The 50-year-old made the confession in the Tuesday episode of "The Pivot Podcast". He first shared, "I've never talked about this, and I'm glad you guys asked because I don't mind talking about this, but I was bad... She was awesome. She really was. It was all me."
However, the former basketball pro player didn't explain further "what he was doing." He just explained, "I wasn't protecting her and protecting those vows... Sometimes when you live that double life, you get caught up. I'm not going to say it was her; it was all me."
Shaq also acknowledged that Shaunie has done her best to save their marriage. "She did exactly what she was supposed to do and gave me beautiful kids, take care of the house, take care of the corporate stuff. It was just all me. Sometimes, when you make a lot of mistakes like that, you can't really come back from that... She was awesome, she really was. It was all me."
The athlete and the TV personality were married from 2002 to 2011. Together, the exes share four children, 22-year-old Shareef, 20-year-old Amirah, 19-year-old Shaqir and 15-year-old Me'arah. Shaunie is also a mother to 24-year-old son Myles from a previous relationship.
In the intervew, Shaq also made it clear that he wishes Shaunie nothing but happines, especially now that she's engaged to pastor Keion Henderson. "She's happy now," the Hall of Famer said on the podcast. "She's about to marry a fine, young gentleman and I'm happy for her."
Shaunie announced her engagement to Keion back in November 2021. In a statement to PEOPLE, she said, "This was one of the most magical and special days of my life, being someone that had never officially been proposed to - like no down on one knee and asked 'will you marry me' moment."
