The host of the 94th Academy Awards hints that she's taking a break for a month after catching heat for her reaction to Will Smith and Chris Rock's confrontation as well as her 'disrespectful' seat filler joke toward Kirsten Dunst.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer is apparently hinting that she's taking some time off following the Oscars drama. After catching heat for saying that she's "traumatized" by the awkward confrontation between Will Smith and Chris Rock, the host of the 94th Academy Awards revealed that she's "out of office."

Making use of her Instagram account on Thursday, March 31, the 40-year-old comedian posted a photo of her cuddling in bed with her son, Gene David. In the caption, she simply wrote, "Out of office reply for the next month. Thanks."

In the comment section of her post, many of her famous pals and fans showed some support. Amanda Kloots wrote, "Ahhh the best," along with a triple of red heart emojis. Meanwhile, Debra Messing commented, "NOTHING is better!!!" with Paris Hilton leaving a smiling face with hearts emoji.

Amy seemingly decided to take a break after she made comments about Will's infamous slap. "I think we can all agree that the best way to unpack what happened is to stream my series @lifeandbethhulu and see me on tour this fall," the "Trainwreck" actress wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of herself. She continued, "But for real. Still triggered and traumatized."

"I love my friend @chrisrock and believe he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend @questlove and the whole thing was so disturbing," Amy gushed over the "Saturday Night Live" alum. She added, "So much pain in @willsmith. Anyway, I'm still in shock and stunned and sad." She then said she's proud of herself as well as her co-hosts, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, "Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed."

However, many social media users blasted Amy for making it all "about [her]." One person wrote in the comment section of her post, "Shame she wants attention," while another chimed in, "Yeah sit this one out Amy."

Aside from being criticized for her reaction to the drama, Amy was called out for allegedly "disrespecting" Kirsten Dunst with her seat filler joke. In response, Amy issued a statement that read, "Hey I appreciate the love for Kirsten Dunst. I love her too!" She went on to explain that it "was a choreographed bit she was in on. Wouldn't disrespect that queen like that."
