The Republican insults the 'Hocus Pocus' actress after she calls West Virginia 'poor, illiterate and strung out' in her angry tweet to Senator Joe Manchin.

AceShowbiz - Bette Midler is beefing with West Virginia Governor Jim Justice. After the Republican told her to kiss his dog's "hiney," the "Hocus Pocus" actress took to social media to offer his perfect clapback.
The back-and-forth between Bette and Jim started after the Grammy winner slammed Sen, Joe Manchin for refusing to support President Joe Biden's Build Back Better Act. At that time, she called West Virginia "poor" and "illiterate."
"What #JoeManchin, who represents a population smaller than Brooklyn, has done to the rest of America, who wants to move forward, not backward, like his state, is horrible," she tweeted. "He sold us out. He wants us all to be just like his state, West Virginia. Poor, illiterate and strung out."
Though Bette has apologized to "the good people of WVA" for her remark, its governor didn't let it go easily. During the televised State of the State address, the 70-year-old fired back at the "Wings Beneath My Wings" hitmaker by bringing up his English bulldog on the podium.
"They never believed in West Virginia that we could do it.. They told every bad joke in the world about us," Jim said. He continued, "And so from that standpoint, Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there, kiss her hiney," while showing off the dog's behind.
Having caught wind of Jim's insult, Bette turned to Twitter to hit back at him. She uploaded a photo of West Virginia's rankings in areas such as health care, the economy and infrastructure that showcased the state's overall rank in the country at 47th place.
Alongside the snap, the Bette wrote, "BTW, here are the state rankings of all the areas and agencies for which the so-called 'Governor' of WVA, #JimJustice, is responsible." She then mocked, "Judging from these rankings, I'd say his dog's a** would make a better Governor than him!"
