AceShowbiz - Key Glock continued to pay tribute to Young Dolph. The "Racks Today" rapper released a new song "Proud" along with its music video in which he reflects on feeling "lost" in the wake of his cousin's death.
The 24-year-old emcee unleashed the track and its visuals on Tuesday, January 18. The footage sees him rapping in front of the memorial at Makeda's Homemade "Butter Cookies", with footage of the late hip-hop star being shown between cuts.
"I lost my dog, I lost my man, won't lie, I'm really lost inside/ I can get it back in blood but still, I can't get back the time," he rhymes. "And f**k that humble s**t, let's go, you know I'm spazzin' out 'bout mine/ I got Dolph lookin' down on me, I know that n***a proud."
"Proud" appears on an upcoming tribute compilation that will be dropped by Dolph's label, Paper Route Empire. The compilation, called "Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph", is slated to be released on Friday, January 21.
In addition to Glock, "Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph" will feature appearances from Dolph himself, Big Moochie Grape, Chitana, Jay Fizzle as well as Joddy. Kenny Muney and Snupe Bandz are also among the contributors.
Glock previously honored Dolph by getting a photo-realistic tattoo of his "Dum and Dummer" collaborator on his forearm. When debuting the body art on Instagram Story back in November 2021, he wrote, "When they see me, they see you!!" adding a yellow heart emoji.
Dolph was gunned down in Memphis, Tennessee on November 17 while he was shopping at Makeda's Homemade "Butter Cookies". Shortly after news about his passing made media headlines, Glock deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
About Dolph's murder, it was reported that a third suspect has been arrested. U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said earlier this month that Shundale Barnett has been charged with being an after-the-fact accessory to first-degree murder. He is also facing charges for criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder and theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000.
