When recalling the terrifying moment, the 'Scream' star reveals that she was told to 'dip' her hand in honey and 'run' when filming a scene in which she 'was getting chased by a bear.'

AceShowbiz - Neve Campbell has opened up about surviving a bear attack on a movie set when she was younger. When recalling the terrifying moment, the "Scream" star shared that the bear "grabs [her] by the leg" and "pulls [her] through the forest."

Speaking to Kelly Clarkson in the Thursday, January 13 episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show", the 48-year-old actress said that she was once attacked by the wild animal when she was only 17 years old. "I was playing this role where she's 'one with the animals' and there was a scene where I was getting chased by a bear," she recalled.

"They brought this bear on set and they first gave me this big bottle of Coke to feed it," Neve added. After feeding the bear, the film production crew had another idea for Neve and the animal. She shared, "They said, 'Dip your hand in honey and just run. And when you get to the tree over there, turn your hand out and feed the bear.' "

"The Lincoln Lawyer" actress did what she was told by the production team as she said, "I dipped my hand in honey and I run to this rock." She then explained, "I turn around and I put my hand out and the bear is not slowing down and he's not coming for my hand."

"He grabs me by the leg and he pulls me through the forest," Neve remembered. "My mother was visiting the set and she's screaming. The whole crew is frozen because nobody can believe what's happening. All I can think to say is, 'He's biting me,' like it's not obvious."

Neve further explained that she was eventually rescued after a bear wrangler began "throwing rocks" at the bear to distract it from her. When Kelly commented on the differences between actors and musicians and the lengths actors are willing to go for a role, she admitted, "It's silly. We get asked to do silly things."

Neve is currently promoting her return as Sidney Prescott in the latest "Scream" movie, which sees her character attempting to solve a series of murders committed by the franchise's killer, Ghostface. The film also stars original cast members Courteney Cox and David Arquette as well as newer faces like Jack Quaid and Jenna Ortega.
