AceShowbiz - Nardo Wick has clarified his recent controversial remark. Having drawn backlash for claiming he preferred robbing people instead of having a real job, the "Who Want Smoke??" rapper took to social media to set the record straight.
"Im not tryna influence nobody to go rob nobody, they asked a question about MY PAST and I answered it," the emcee, who turned 20 on Thursday, December 30, penned on Instagram Story. "That's what I was doing when I was 15-16 years old, A product of my environment."
"My mama had just came home from prison and it was a hard time for us and we ain't have nothing. I would never tell or try to convince a young black man or anyone period to crash out!" the hip-hop star further explained. "I changed my life and started taking rapping serious because I knew that I wouldn't make it if I kept doing what I was doin."
Nardo went on to note that "there is nothing wrong with a job, robbing ain't cool at all." He continued, "I ain't try to make it seem cool I was speaking on past events, what I was doin young and dumb, I changed for the better and Learned from my mistakes.Y'all stay focused and chase y'all dreams."
Nardo's clarification came after he admitted on "Big Facts Podcast" that it's easier for him to make money in the streets instead of getting employed. "I would look at it like, I go rob a n*gga and get this much, why would I go to work?" he asked as the podcast hosts laughed.
After the interview went viral, many called out Nardo. "I like Nardo wick, talented. We can't keep egging this dumb s**t on. Regular jobs are definitely slavery but I'll work before I rob my brother," one Twitter user argued.
"Nardo wick gotta come back out and say hey kids do not be like me and rob people cause I didn't want to work a job," another raged. "Too many kids look up to him. We don't need more black Boys more than anything thinking robbing cats it's more honorable then getting a 9-5."
