In a new GQ video, the Canadian hunk can be seen answering a fan's question on Quora which reads, 'Will Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) reprise his MCU role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Stranger 2)?'

AceShowbiz - After Wong (Benedict Wong) appeared in "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", fans have been speculating that Simu Liu's character Shang-Chi will be making an appearance in the second movie of "Doctor Strange", "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". In a new interview, Liu has finally addressed the rumors but fans may be disappointed with the revelation.

In a new GQ video, Liu was seen responding to fans on the Internet. While opening Quora, the Canadian hunk answered a fan's question which read, "Will Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) reprise his MCU role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Stranger 2)?" To the question, Liu replied, "Even if I were in that movie, which I'm not, there is no way in hell that I would ever say it out loud. That's all I can really say, right? Nah, I'm kidding."

In a separate interview, Liu shared that he's excited for his next adventure in the sequel of "Shang-Chi" that will also be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. "I guess I wasn't the most surprised, given everything that had happened. I was so relieved to hear that he [Cretton] has been confirmed to come back," Liu told ComicBook.com earlier this month.

He continued,"Again, that's not a surprise but it's just so good to feel the engine turning again like, 'Great! We get to tell more stories again,' while delving deeper into the characters and providing more of those badass fight sequences," he went on to say.

When asked if his character will be having a romantic plot with Katy (Awkwafina), the "One True Loves" star said, "Shaun and Katy work so well as best friends. I agree, personally, I agree, and I think it's refreshing when you see a man and woman on screen that don't necessarily have to fall in love."

He continued, "I'm not saying that they never will, but it's certainly not hinted at I think in the movie. I think what they have is just truly wonderful. I mean, I think it represents a lot of the male/female friendships that I have in life. I think we'll see where the story goes, but if you were to ask me now, do I think that Shaun and Katy should be romantically involved, I would say no."

Back to "Doctor Strange 2", the highly-anticipated movie will see Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch joining Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange. The new flick will also mark Xochitl Gomez's debut as America Chavez in the MCU. Additionally, Chiwetel Ejiofor will reprise his character Karl Mordo in the upcoming movie.

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is directed by Sam Raimi. Written by Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron, it will head into theaters across the nation on May 6, 2022.
