AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey seemingly thinks there is no need to prove who is better between her and fellow singing diva Beyonce Knowles. The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker reacted epically when she was asked about the possibility of having a hit-for-hit battle against the "Lemonade" singer.

"We can't ask that question," Mariah said in an interview with E! on Wednesday, December 15. "I love Beyonce and I admire her so much as a performer for what she's done for the world and everything else."

The 53-year-old went on to explain, "So I ain't answering that question because how am I supposed to do--I'll be disrespecting myself, and I'm not gonna do that." Further playing coy about the matter, she performed a little sing-song as she sang, "Because it's Christmas time."

Internet users loved Mariah's response. "One thing you're not going to do is play with Mariah at Christmas time," one fan joked in an Instagram comment. "Mariah said 'now why am In this'," another person reacted, while another comment read, "One thing about Mariah…she gon shut you down quick."

"It's her singing at the end for me," one other added. Echoing the sentiment, one person commented, "The little song at the end.Mimi so funny, man!"

Some fans, meanwhile, believed that Mariah would win if the two stars would ever go head-to-head. "Mariah would win, but I wouldn't compare them," one user opined. "The funny thing is Mariah has more hits," another person agreed.

Mariah and Beyonce have indeed a good friendship. Last year, the wife of Jay-Z went to Mariah's Christmas show in New York City. The pair also took a selfie together and posed for a group photo backstage with their children. Gushing over the "Halo" singer, the "Reflection" songstress captioned the snap, "I love you @Beyonce thank you sooooo much for coming out tonight."
