AceShowbiz - 2021 is such a triumphant year for BTS (Bangtan Boys). Having won several accolades in various award-giving shows, the famed K-Pop group took home three trophies in music categories of People's Choice Awards 2021.
In the Tuesday, December 7 ceremony that went down live from Santa Monica's Barker Hangar, it's announced that BTS won The Group of 2021. The famed boy band also bagged awards for The Song of 2021 and The Music Video of 2021 for "Butter".
Trailing behind with two trophies was Olivia Rodrigo. The Nini depicter on "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" won two awards for The Album of 2021 for "Sour" and The New Artist of 2021. The fan-voted awards show also saw Lil Nas X being named The Male Artist of 2021 with Adele becoming The Female Artist of 2021.
The Tuesday night event was also special for Christina Aguilera, who took home the PCAs first-ever Music Icon Award. As for Blake Shelton, he won The Country Artist of 2021, edging out fellow nominees Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert.
Other musicians who received awards at this year's People's Choice Awards were The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber. The pair snagged People's Choice for The Collaboration Song of 2021 for their hit joint single "Stay". Bad Bunny, on the other hand, nabbed the Latin Artist of 2021.
Aside from music, the 2021 People's Choice Awards also honored celebrities for their amazing works in movie and television. In the movie department, Simu Liu won The Action Movie Star of 2021 for "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings". Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston came out as The Male TV Star of 2021 for "Loki".
