AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian earned herself an award as a style legend at the 2021 People's Choice Awards. In the Tuesday, December 7 award-giving event, the TV star and businesswoman thanked her estranged husband Kanye West as she received this year's Fashion Icon Award.
The SKIMS founder took to the stage to receive the prestigious award from former Fashion Icon Award winner Tracee Ellis Ross. She then gushed over the fashion icon in her speech, saying, "To be receiving this award from a fashion icon herself, Tracee, I am so honored."
The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum, who turned heads in her head-to-toe black outfit by Balenciaga and a pair of thick black sunglasses, continued, "I am honestly so humbled to be here. I mean, I started off as a closet organizer and a stylist. So the fact that I am winning a Fashion Icon Award, it's like a pinch-me moment."
She then gave her estranged husband Ye a special shout-out for his keen sense of style and influence. "Thank you to Kanye for really introducing me to the fashion world," she praised the "Donda" artist, with whom she shares four kids together. "And I fell in love with fashion and I'm so inspired by so many people. But again, this is a dream that I get to wake up and wear these amazing clothes and just try new things. You know, take a risk."
Concluding her speech, the daughter of Kris Jenner said, "I'm so humbled. Thank you so much."
Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February of this year after six years of marriage. Last month, the rapper showed his desire to reconcile with his estranged wife Kim. "We've made mistakes. I've made mistakes. I've publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason - I didn't know I was going to be in front of this mic -- but I'm here to change the narrative," he said when he visited Skid Row in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Eve.
However, it might arrive a little bit too late as Kim has been rumored to be dating "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson.
