After he was fired by CNN over his efforts to help brother Andrew Cuomo handle sexual harassment scandal, a new damning allegation against him was revealed. According to New York Times, the journalist was accused of sexual misconduct by a former co-worker.

The unnamed woman was reportedly a former "junior colleague" at another news network. She hired Debra Katz, the lawyer who represented the woman accusing Chris' politician brother of sexual harassment earlier this year.

The lawyer contacted CNN on Wednesday, before Chris was terminated by the TV network, to inform them about the allegation. The attorney said her client came forward because she was "disgusted by Chris Cuomo's on-air statements in response to the allegations made against his brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo."

The lawyer quoted Chris' comments from a March 1 broadcast where he said, "I have always cared very deeply about these issues, and profoundly so. I just wanted to tell you that."

It's unclear if the sexual misconduct allegation contributed to CNN's decision to cut ties with Chris Cuomo, but the TV network made the decision only a few days after suspending the anchor. They cited a review by "a respected law firm" and "additional information" that "has come to light."

The anchor hasn't commented on the sexual misconduct accusation, but he issued a statement shortly after his termination.

"This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother," he wrote.

"So let me say now as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN's #1 show in the most competitive timeslot. I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work."
