The retired baseball athlete and his wife Hannah are rumored to welcome the latest addition to their growing family, a bouncing baby girl named River, via surrogate.

AceShowbiz - Derek Jeter officially becomes a proud father of three. The former baseball player has quietly welcomed another daughter, his third child with wife Hannah, ahead of Christmas. The couple named the newborn River Rose.

The baby news was revealed after his website The Players' Tribune sent well wishes to the pair on Twitter, "Congratulations Derek and @hannahbjeter on the birth of your baby girl, River Rose Jeter, born Thursday, Dec. 2."

Baby River joins big sisters Bella, 4, and Story, 2. The two little girls accompanied mom Hannah at dad Derek's Baseball Hall of Fame induction three months ago, and Hannah didn't look pregnant. This prompted surrogate rumors.

Neither Derek nor Hannah issued a statement about their third child, but Derek paid tribute to his family during his acceptance speech at the induction ceremony, "To my girls, Hannah, Bella and Story: This day puts an exclamation point on my playing career, which was my first dream. Through you all and with you all, I'm living another one."

"Bella and Story: I want you to know that your dad was far from perfect," the retired athlete also said. "I made my fair share of mistakes on and off the field. But through it all, I tried to do the right thing. I found something I was passionate about and I worked harder than anyone else. I didn't take any shortcuts to achieve it."

"I have zero regrets in my career, other than the fact that I didn't get a chance to share it with you," added the star who retired in 2014, three years before his first child was born. "What I will share is my story. Most of it won't be what I accomplished on the field. It's going to be the lessons I learned off of it. I hope I always make you proud."
