AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez just wanted to have fun on TikTok like everybody else. The "Lose You to Love Me" singer took to her page to share a comical reaction video to a clip of Dr. Dawn Bantel explaining what "heavy" drinking is.

"The CDC defines heavy drinking as 15 or more drinks a week for men," Dr. Dawn shared, while Selena could be seen raising her eyebrows. "And 8 or more drinks per week for women," the doctor added. The remarks made the singer and actress anxious as she was biting her nails.

The "Come and Get It" singer made it clear that the post was meant to be a joke as it wrote in the caption, "It's a joke." However, one of her followers apparently didn't get the memo as the person criticized Selena, writing, "So one of your best friends gives you her kidney and you continue to drink excessively. Damn Selena."

Catching wind of the comment, the 29-year-old Grammy nominee didn't waste time to hit back. "It was a joke a**." Some other fans also jumped into her defense as one said, "The fact you need to say that this is a joke [pleading face emoji]…I love you."

Another person wrote, "why is everyone acting like a dr? you can drink after a kidney transplant. I'm sure she's sensible, drinks in moderation + it's no one's business." Echoing the sentiment, another user said, "I ha d a kidney transplant and we are allowed to drink! Alcohol is metabolized through the liver! We are told to stay hydrated! Chill people!"

Someone else added, "if you guys watched Selenaxchef you know that Selena never drinks alcohol, while her friend drinking she drink tea or juice." A fan also noted, "It's a joke. Lmaooo CHILL. Y'all are acting like you are with her 24/7 all day everyday and know she's a heavy drinker. SHEEESHH let her live."

Selena announced in September 2017 that she had received a kidney transplant from close friend Francia Raisa while battling lupus. In an interview with "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie a month later, the former Disney darling said there's now only a three to five percent chance that her lupus will return. Adding that she felt Francia saved her life, Selena divulged, "I guess I got to the point where it was really, kind of, life or death."
