AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez almost lost her mom Mandy Teefey due to double pneumonia infection. The "Love You Like a Love Song" songstress' mother revealed her health scare in a heartbreaking social media post.

The 45-year-old mom, who recently explained that she gained 60 lbs. during her hospitalization with life-threatening illness in her Entrepreneur magazine cover story, shared on her Instagram page a screengrab of someone messaging her about losing weight. In response, she wrote in the caption, "I wasn't ever going to discuss this, but I knew when the Entrepreneur cover came out comments on my weight were going to be DM'd to me."

"I just posted a polite offer instead of the name calling. But, I was out of the hospital for maybe 3 1/2 weeks from double pneumonia. I was told I had days to live," Mandy continued. She added, "I had miracle Drs and love from my family and friends to keep me going. I fought. The Drs fought and I was one of the few who made it out."

Firing back at the body shamer, Mandy wrote, "I gained 60lbs plus inflammation from the infection. I never gave up on myself or Wondermind coming to reality." She stressed, "I had zero business to be at a photo shoot."

"So, yesterday was a beautiful day for many reasons filled with personal attacks. I'm healthy and I will work on myself at my pace," Mandy further elaborated. She then continued to slam the negative criticism about her body as saying, "It's a miracle I am here and could careless if that means I'm a 16 instead of an 8."

Mandy concluded her post by sending love to her followers. She wrote, "Much love to everyone. Let's Wondermind!!! XO." She also explained that the pictures she included in her post were taken while she's fighting the disease in the hospital. "Picture one was two days to live, picture two the day I was released," she said.

Her comment section was flooded with positive messages from her followers. One Instagram user wrote, "You are a fighter, and you are going to do big things with Wonder Mind! Proud of you!"

In the meantime, another insisted, "You don't owe ANYBODY an explanation! But thank you for sharing this Mandy, I had no idea you were going through something like this." The comment continued to read, "Wishing you the absolute best. You're an inspiration. Also you look gorgeous in the photoshoot!!!!!!!!!!" A third remarked, "Haters gonna hate. Don't let them get to you Mandy. U are amazing. You are Rare and Unique. And we love you so much. Slay Queen."
