To show his love for the part of New York where he was raised, the 'Saturday Night Live' regular reworks the Grammy winner's 1991 hit in a parody titled 'Walking in Staten'.

AceShowbiz - Pete Davidson has paid tribute to his Staten Island hometown on "Saturday Night Live" with a funny song spoof featuring Marc Cohn and Method Man.

Kim Kardashian's rumored boyfriend reworked Cohn's 1991 hit "Walking in Memphis" as "Walking in Staten" to show his love for the part of New York where he was raised. And he recruited the hitmaker and the rapper star to appear in the black-and-white clip.

"No, I don't want to be in a parody of my own song," Cohn moans in the video, before appearing moments later wearing a hoodie reading "I (Heart) Staten Island", alongside Pete and another rapper, Big Wet.

After Davidson name drops fellow Staten Island natives - "SNL" castmate and husband of Scarlett Johansson, Colin Jost, and Method Man, the Wu-Tang Clan star appears and raps, "Staten Island is where I'm walkin'/Where I'm from a little different/We trappin' and easy passing/Cross the Verrazzano (bridge)/Welcome to Staten."

And when someone asks him, "Tell me, are you Italian?", the "Built for This" hitmaker enthusiastically replies, "Man, I am tonight!"

After Pete sings, "This place is the reason I turned out weird," the video ends with the foursome on a Staten Island ferry, looking out towards the ocean, with the comedian saying, "Imagine if we could actually swim in it..."

Davidson was spotted showing Kardashian his favourite local spots earlier this month (November 2021) and arranged a private rooftop dinner for the pair at Italian Staten Island restaurant Campania. Some of his "SNL" castmates have shared their thoughts on the possible romance.

During the American Museum of Natural History's 2021 Museum Gala in New York City, Kenan Thompson said, "They look like they're having a good time. I'm always happy when he's happy." Meanwhile, Bowen Yang commented, "I don't know what the nature of the friendship is, but it seems like they're having a good time hanging out."
