When addressing the dating speculations, 'The Hangover' actor says that it would've been 'so weird' if he and his co-star were on stools facing the audience during their intimate 'Shallow' performance at the awards show.

AceShowbiz - Bradley Cooper has addressed the relationship rumors involving Lady GaGa. In a new interview, the "Silver Linings Playbook" actor set the record straight on the dating speculations.

On Wednesday, November 17, "The Hangover" actor confirmed during the interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he and GaGa were definitely acting when they performed "Shallow" at the 2019 Oscars. According to the publication, the 46-year-old had conceived the performance to unfold like a scene from the movie in part to help manage his own fears about singing live.

Cooper shared, "Just from a personal standpoint, it reduces the anxiety level." The "A Star Is Born" actor explained further, "They kind of fall in love in that scene in the film. It's that explosive moment that happens to them on a stage in front of thousands of peopleā€¦It would have been so weird if we were both on stools facing the audience."

GaGa and Cooper sparked romance rumors in 2018 when "A Star Is Born" hit theaters. It was clear the co-stars had a close bond, with the "Poker Face" songstress revealing that they had an "instant connection" that came "the second that [she] saw him."

Despite the rumors, GaGa has long maintained they weren't actually romantically involved. "Yes, people saw love and, guess what, that's what we wanted you to see," the 35-year-old singer told Jimmy Kimmel in February 2019.

GaGa seemingly knew the rumors were only fueled by their intimate performance of "Shallow" at the awards show that year. However, the Grammy-winning artist explained that Cooper had planned out the entire show in extreme detail as saying, "I knew that he had the vision for how it should go."

Later in November that year, GaGa doubled down on her statement, noting that the media was "very silly." The "House of Gucci" actress said, "Quite frankly, I think the press is very silly. I mean, we made a love story. For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love."

"And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars," GaGa further elaborated. She stressed, "We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on."

When the movie came out, Cooper was in a relationship with Irina Shayk, but news of their split spread in June 2019. As for GaGa, she and her ex-fiance Christian Carino reportedly called it off in early 2019, with the singer/actress also confirming the split in June 2019.
