AceShowbiz - Dancer and TV star Derek Hough is quarantining after learning he has tested positive for COVID, hours after appearing on "Dancing With the Stars".
Hough revealed the news in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday morning (16Nov21), telling fans and followers he wanted them to hear the news directly from him.
"Even though I've been fully vaccinated, I've just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of Covid," he said. "I just found out. I feel OK. I feel strong. I'm currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can."
Hough is still hoping to be part of "Dancing With the Stars" Season 30 finale next week (22Nov21).
Back in September, dancer Cheryl Burke and her partner on the hit U.S. show, Cody Rigsby, both tested positive for the virus and quarantined. They bounced back and will appear on next week's finale.
Hough's diagnosis has forced him to reschedule his Las Vegas residency at The Venetian this week (ends19Nov21).
"I'll announce the new dates shortly!" he added.
Meanwhile, Amanda Kloots and JoJo Siwa have advanced to the finals to compete for the mirrorball trophy on "Dancing With the Stars".
The stars will be joined in the final by Iman Shumpert, Cody Rigsby, and their professional dance partners.
The line-up for next week's extravaganza comes after both Suni Lee and Melora Hardin were sent home in a double elimination on Monday night (15Nov21). Amanda was also in the bottom three, but the judges opted to save her over gymnast Lee.
The star was awarded a perfect 40 out of 40 for her contemporary dance to the sound of "Live Your Life", by Amanda's late husband Nick Cordero - a performance that reduced the judges and audience to tears.
"I kind of just tried to take in the moment, to be honest," Amanda said afterwards. "And you know, I felt so grateful and lucky to be able to do this dance tonight to Nick's song. I mean, it truly was an honour."
