Dave Dominates Nominations for 2021 MOBO Awards

The 'Money Talks' hitmaker leads nominees for the upcoming MOBO Awards with a total of five mentions including the coveted Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

AceShowbiz - Dave leads the nominations for the 2021 MOBO Awards with five nods.

The British rap star is recognised in five categories, including Best Male Act, Best Hip Hop Act, Album of the Year for "We're All Alone in This Together", Song of the Year for "Clash" featuring Stormzy, and Video of the Year for Fredo collaboration "Money Talks".

Elsewhere, London rapper Central Cee earns four nominations, including Best Male Act, Song of the Year for "Commitment Issues", Best Newcomer, and Best Drill Act, while Arlo Parks rounds up a year of success with Best Newcomer, Best Female Act, and Album of the Year for "Collapsed in Sunbeams".

She's one of a number of artists scooping a hattrick of nominations - Little Simz, Cleo Sol, and Ghetts each earned a handful of nods for their work over the past 12 months.

New this year is the Best Drill Act prize, recognising the cultural and urgent force that the genre has become over the last few years. Headie One tops the list, along with Tion Wayne, Unknown T, Digga D, M1llionz, and more.

Wizkid and Tems earn Best African Act nominations, following the global smash "Essence", along with rising stars Ayra Starr and Ckay, plus Burna Boy, Rema, and Davido.

The celebration of Black music and culture returns with its first live show since 2017 with an extravaganza on 5 December (21) at the Coventry Building Society Arena. It will be livestreamed on YouTube, with BBC One broadcasting a behind-the-scenes show with interviews and performances. BBC Radio 1Xtra will also be covering the awards.
