The director sees 'so much of Eros' in the 'Watermelon Sugar' hitmaker, and is happy Marvel President Kevin Feige agreed to her casting choice for the Marvel movie.

AceShowbiz - "Eternals" director Chloe Zhao "kept tabs" on Harry Styles after watching him in "Dunkirk", and he was the only actor she wanted to play Eros in the Marvel film.

Chloe saw "so much of Eros" in the "Watermelon Sugar" hitmaker, and was happy Marvel President Kevin Feige agreed to her casting choice.

"Harry as Eros was very much a package deal for me. I pitched the idea of Pip the Troll [voiced by Patton Oswald] and Eros to Kevin a while back, and I love the idea of exploring an Eternal who is beyond Titan and who may have influenced Thanos throughout the years the same way Eternals influenced us, earthlings," she told Deadline.

"And then, it wasn't like I suggested Eros, and let's go find actors. I kept tabs on Harry since 'Dunkirk', I thought he was very interesting. After meeting him I saw he is that character - the same way I cast the rest of my cast. There's so much of Eros in him. For me, if he says yes, and Kevin says yes, then it's a go. And I'm very happy they both did."

Harry appears in a post-credits scene alongside Patton, in which their characters meet up with Thena, played by Angelina Jolie, Barry Keoghan's Druig and Lauren Ridloff's Makkari.

Despite gaining attentions worldwide, "Eternals" was banned in several Gulf Nations over featuring a same-sex relationship. "I'm sad for [those audiences]. And I'm proud of Marvel for refusing to cut those scenes out," star Angelina Jolie said of the ban. "I still don't understand how we live in a world today where there's still [people who] would not see the family Phastos has and the beauty of that relationship and that love."
