In the former president's opinion, the 'Rust' shooting could not have been a mere accident because if it were him, he would not point a gun at another person.

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump has finally weighed in on the "Rust" shooting that involved one of his biggest critics, Alec Baldwin. Not mincing his words, the former president blasted the actor as "sick" and "volatile," and accused him of purposely shooting the movie's cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Trump shared his two cents on the tragedy during a radio interview on Thursday, November 4. "In my opinion, he had something to do with it," he told conservative host Christ Stigall, "but if nothing else, how do you take a gun, whether it's loaded or not loaded, how do you take a gun, point it at somebody that's not even in the movie, and just point it at this person and pull the trigger, and now she's dead."

"Even if it was loaded, and, you know, that's a weird thing, maybe he loaded it," he speculated. "Who would put a gun, 'Here, Alec, here's your gun,' 'Oh, good,' lift it up, point it at a person, and pull the trigger, and, 'Oh, man, a bullet came out,' she's dead. So there's something wrong with him, he's a sick guy."

The 75-year-old went on arguing, "If they handed me a gun, I would never point it at somebody and shoot it, you know. I don't care about checking the gun. They hand you a gun you're not going to point it at somebody."

"This was really a cinematographer, so it's not even like an actress that's on set with you, this was a cinematographer," he elaborated, "so that means he took the gun and pointed it at a cinematographer, pulled the trigger and she was dead."

Trump went on suggesting that "there's something wrong" with Baldwin, who impersonated him on "Saturday Night Live". He said, "I've watched him for years. He gets into fistfights with reporters. I mean, everything he does, he's a volatile guy. He's a nutjob."

Baldwin discharged the gun that struck Hutchins and "Rust" director Joel Souza on the set in Santa Fe, New Mexico on October 21. The cinematographer died after being airlifted to the hospital, while Souza was treated for his injury in the hospital and was released the following morning.

The "30 Rock" alum has been questioned by authorities, but no charges have been filed. In a statement released on Twitter one day after the accident, the 63-year-old actor said, "I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna."
