AceShowbiz - "Sister Wives" couple Christine Brown and Kody Brown have gone separate ways. On Tuesday, November 2, the pair announced their decision to split in statements on their respective social media accounts.
Christine took to her page to post an image which read, "After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave." She added, "We will continue to be a strong presence in each other's lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family."
As for Kody, he wrote on his own account, "Christine's decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness." He went on to note, "We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her. Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents."
While fans were shocked by the split, a source claimed that those who are close with the former couple were not. "It's no shock. She's been in the process of leaving him for a while. The big reason why she split from him is because Kody has been completed devoted to Robyn [Brown] for the past five or six years. That hasn't changed at all," the insider told Us Weekly.
Christine and Kody had been together since March 1994. The two share six children together, Asypen (26), Mykelti (25), Paedon (23), Gwendlyn (20), Ysabel (18) and Truely (11). The pair appeared on the TLC show, which follows the life of a polygamist family, premiered in September 2010.
Kody is also long-term relationships with sister wives Meri, Janelle and Robyn. Kody legally married Meri in 1990 and two years later, Janelle joined the family. While Christine joined the family a year later, Robyn became his legal spouse in 2010. He is a father to 18 children, whom he shares with his four partners.
