When pretending to be a Buccaneers official negotiating with a fan who caught Tom Brady's 600th touchdown ball, the former NFL star predicts that the official offers the fan a date with Gisele in exchange for the ball.

AceShowbiz - Gisele Bundchen is undoubtedly one of the hottest wives of NFL stars to this day, but fans still expect some respect when people talk about her. Clearly oblivious to this, Tony Romo has landed in hot water after he made an inappropriate joke about Tom Brady's wife.

On Sunday, October 24, during the match between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chicago Bears, Tom threw his 600th career touchdown pass. His teammate Mike Evans unknowingly gave the ball to a fan.

On Tuesday, October 26 broadcast of "NFL on CBS", Tony weighed on a Tampa Bay staffer who negotiated with a fan to get the ball back. Adding his own commentary, he predicted what the staffer and the fan were saying.

"A date with Gisele. A date with Gisele and I'm in," Romo said, acting as the fan, per the New York Post. "OK, Tom will do it. One time, you got it," the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback continued, pretending to voice the Bucs official.

Fans quickly took issue with Tony's comment. "Tony Romo suggesting Brady trade a date with his wife for his 600th TD ball is just weird/borderline creepy," one person slammed the former NFL star-turned-sports analyst. "Dude is a good broadcaster but so awkward sometimes."

Another thought the joke was "tasteless," writing, "I don't think what Romo said was funny. It was tasteless. But that's just me." A third asked, "Why do we need to listen to [Tony Romo] fantasize about trading a football for 'a day with Giselle'? What does Mr. Romo presume would happen with Gisele during that day she has been traded like property for a football?"

"[Gisele Bundchen] is the mother of [Tom Brady's] CHILDREN - have some respect [Tony Romo]," another person commented. "He's not some prize for bargaining - I found this disgusting - also I would have NEVER given that ball back without a proper negotiation, thank you."

Tony has not responded to the backlash.

Meanwhile, Tom has got his ball back. "I got the ball back," the 44-year-old athlete joked with Peyton Manning and Eli Manning during his appearance on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" simulcast. "There was a lot of negotiation in order to get the ball back."

The fan, Byron Kennedy, will be compensated for giving the ball back. He will get two signed Tom Brady jerseys, a helmet, another jersey from Mike Evans and his game-worn cleats. The team is also providing Byron season tickets for the rest of 2021 and all of 2022 and a $1,000 credit to the team store.
