AceShowbiz - Katy Perry is toasting her 37th birthday by sharing a cheery new festive GAP commercial. The "Firework" hitmaker covers The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" in the one-minute clip for the clothing retailer, which dropped on her special day (October 25).
In the holiday spot, Katy wakes up and begins singing the 1967 hit as she grabs a coffee and is chauffered to the set, where she sings the song and strums along on guitar, wearing a pink turtleneck jumper with matching hat and sweatpants, as fake snow falls on her and her backup singers.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, the birthday girl explains she's working with Gap bosses to help raise funds for one of her favorite charities, Baby2Baby, noting the nonprofit's chiefs will receive $1 (£0.73) every time a follower streams Perry's own full-length version of the Brits' classic hit on Spotify.
"From folding sweatshirts at the Santa Barbara Gap to 20 years later, starring in a @markromanek-directed holiday campaign dreams do come true!. And @gap is also helping to make dreams come true for @baby2baby Starting today, Gap is donating $1 per @spotify stream of my version of the song featured in the Gap ad - up to $100,000 USD - to support @baby2baby's mission to provide basic essentials to children living in poverty across the country. In a statement, Gap bosses describe the new ad as a "tribute to the power of working together to foster love, kindness and acceptance."
