The 'Shivers' singer has promised to do 'as many of [his] planned interviews/performances [he] can from [his] house' after he is diagnosed with Covid-19.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran has tested positive for COVID, but hopes to still perform from his house.

The "Bad Habits" hitmaker shared a message to Instagram on Sunday (24Oct21), announcing he was cancelling his upcoming in-person appearances.

"Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I've sadly tested positive for Covid, so I'm now self-isolating and following government guidelines," he wrote.

"It means that I'm now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I'll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house," he continued.

"Apologies to anyone I've let down. Be safe everyone x."

The timing is bad for Ed - his new album "=", is set to be released on Friday (29Oct21).

To promote the album, the singer has mapped out a tour in 2022. He will travel the U.K., Ireland, central Europe, and Scandinavia, kicking it off in April and concluding in September.

The jaunt will mark Ed's first stadium shows since his record-breaking Divide Tour, which became the most-attended and highest-grossing tour of all time in 2019.

As a warm-up, he performed at several major events earlier this year. He took the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York, performing "Shivers" from his new LP.

Earlier this month, he sang at Prince William's inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards, joining the likes of Shawn Mendes and Coldplay.
