It is still unknown if the body remains, which are found at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park while being searched by a cavader dog, belong to Brian, who is named as the person of interest in his fiancee Gabby Petito's murder.

AceShowbiz - More updates are here regarding the search for Brian Laundrie, fiance of murdered YouTuber Gabby Petito (Gabrielle Petito). On Wednesday, October 20, FBI confirmed to reporters that investigators found human remains and Brian's belongings at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

"Earlier today, investigators found what appears to be human remains as well as personal items such as a backpack and notebook belonging to Brian Laundrie," Michael McPherson, special agent in charge of the FBI's Tampa Field Office, shared. "These items were found in an area that up until recently had been under water. Our evidence response team is on scene using all available forensic resources to process the area. It's likely the team will be on scene for several days."

The remains were found near the the 24,565-acre Carlton Reserve, just hours after Brian's parents searched the area. The parents told police they believed that Brian, who is named as the person of interest in Gabby's death, was headed before he went missing last month. As of now, it is still unknown if the body remains, which were found at the site while being searched by a cavader dog, belong to Brian.

The Laundrie family's Steven Bertolino said that Brian's parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, were in the park, "an area where they had initially advised law enforcement that Brian may be," when the discovery happened. He said in a statement, "Chris and Roberta Laundrie went to the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park this morning to search for Brian. The FBI and NPPD were informed last night of Brian's parents' intentions, and they met Chris and Roberta there this morning."

"After a brief search of a trail that Brian frequented, some articles belonging to Brian were found. As of now, law enforcement is conducting a more thorough investigation of that area," he added. The attorney went on to say that "Chris and Roberta will wait for the forensic identification of the human remains before making any additional comments."

Gabby and Brian took on a cross-country road trip before she was reported missing by her parents on September 11. Days later, her body remains were found in the vicinity of Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

Brian, meanwhile, was later revealed to be returning to his parents' home in North Port, Florida alone on September 1. He, however, went missing as his parents claimed they haven't seen him since he went hiking in the nearby Carlton Reserve area on September 14.
