The 'N****s in Paris' rapper finally receives approval from a Los Angeles judge two months after submitting the legal documents to change his name due to 'personal reasons.'

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has finally received approval from a Los Angeles judge to officially change his name to "Ye", with no middle or last name. The "N****s in Paris" rapper got his approval two months after filing the legal documents.

The 44-year-old rapper filed a request to change his name from Kanye Omari West to just Ye in August. The papers were dated August 11 but not sent into the court system until August 24. In the petition, the "Donda" artist explained that he wanted to change his moniker due to "personal reasons."

Previously, Ye announced on Twitter that he would be changing his stage name to Ye, following the release of his eighth studio album "Ye". "The being formally known as Kanye West...I am YE," read his Twitter post back in 2018.

In the same year, Ye also addressed his simple moniker during an interview with Big Boy. "I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means 'you,' " he told the radio host.

"So I'm you, I'm us, it's us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye -- just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything," the estranged husband of Kim Kardashian explained. "The album is more of a reflection of who we are."

His identity on his Instagram and Twitter account currently shows Ye, but his username on both platforms remains @kanyewest. The rapper shares his surname with his four children, 8-year-old North West, 5-year-old Saint West, 3-year-old Chicago West and 2-year-old Psalm West, as well as his estranged wife.

While Ye finally dropped his name, Kim is still keeping "West" as her last name. "Although Kanye often has creative ideas that Kim appreciates, he also often changes his mind. He might like Ye now, but it's hard to know if he will in the future," the insider said after Ye filed his name-changing request in August. "All the kids have the last name West, so Kim is keeping it as is. Kanye hasn't asked her to change it either."

The former star of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" is still using her married name in her signature. When giving a fan her sign over a glamorous promotional portrait of herself from her KKW Beauty brand in June, she wrote, "Kim Kardashian West."
