'To All the Boys' Spin-Off Series Centering on Kitty Ordered by Netflix

10-episode half-hour young adult dramedy 'XO, Kitty' will be exploring the love life of Kitty, Lara Jean's sister and teen matchmaker, who will be reprised by Anna Cathcart.

AceShowbiz - A spin-off series to "To All the Boys" movie series moves forward on Netflix. On Monday, October 18, the streaming giant announced that it had given 10-episode order to "XO, Kitty", the first series spawned by a Netflix original film "To All the Boys I've Loved Before".

Hailing from Awesomeness and ACE Entertainment, the new series will put Lara Jean's (Lana Condor) sister Kitty on the center. The half-hour young adult dramedy will be exploring the love life of Kitty, who will be reprised by Anna Cathcart.

The original movie sees the teen matchmaker as someone who thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. However, when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she'll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it's your own heart on the line.

Netflix took to the movie franchise's official Instagram account to share the exciting news. Alongside a picture of an email draft that read, "I bet you thought the story is over...," the account wrote in the caption, "Verified The story isn't over just yet. XO, Kitty, a spin-off series starring @annacathcart inspired by To All the Boys is on its way to Netflix."

Anna also commented on the post to show her excitement over the new project. "as a wise woman once said 'OH HELLL YESSS,' " the young actress said.

Jenny Han, the author of the best-selling book series which inspired the original flick and the upcoming series, will serve as co-showrunner alongside Sascha Rothchild. They will also executive produce the show with Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment. Jenny is also the TV series' creator and co-writes the pilot script with Siobhan Vivian.

Together, Awesomeness and ACE Entertainement previously developed Jenny's popular novels 2014's "To All the Boys I've Loved Before", 2015's "P.S. I Still Love You (2015)" and 2017's "Always and Forever, Lara Jean" into the hugely successful film franchise for Netflix. The movies, which also stars Noah Centineo, include "To All the Boys I've Loved Before", "To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" and "To All the Boys: Always and Forever".
