Though the coronavirus pandemic has delayed her plans for adopting a third child with her fiancee Joel Shiffman, the 'TODAY' co-anchor says that she will 'wait wisely.'

AceShowbiz - Hoda Kotb has offered an update on the process of expanding her family. In a new interview, the "TODAY" co-anchor revealed that COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down her third child adoption process.

When making an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on Thursday night, July 15, the 56-year-old opened up, "You know what's funny about the adoption stuff that's going on now, apparently it's really slow during this time, during COVID." She added, "I thought it would be a different game."

Hoda went on to explain the reason behind the delayed process, saying, "They said that a lot of people who maybe would normally feel like it would be something they'd want to do, have a child and then give it to someone to raise because they couldn't, are holding onto things because they don't have anything in that moment." She continued, "So that's what I've heard from our agency. Everything's slow."

Though so, Hoda said, "They say wait wisely and just be." The news anchor, who is a mom to daughters 4-year-old Haley and 2-year-old Hope, stated, "So, [she and fiancee Joel Schiffman] are just going to be."

Host Andy, who became an adoptive parent to 2-year-old son Benjamin in 2019, then reminded Hoda of a quote she once shared herself, "Everything is right on time." The "Today With Hoda & Jenna" host then responded, "Yes!" noting that the words actually came from her close friend and fellow morning news show host Robin Roberts (II), who gave the wisdom when Hoda revealed that she had adopted her first child Haley Joy at the age of 52.

"When I first got Haley, I adopted her in my 50s and I called Robin Roberts and I said, 'Robin, can you believe, this is so crazy... I'm 50 and I have a baby,' " Hoda recalled, before sharing that the "Good Morning America" anchor simply told her, "That baby is right on time." The mom of two then added, "And everything has been right on time!"
