Having been engaged to former Sony Music Australia executive Pat Handlin since 2019, the 'Sweet Talk' singer decides to delay their nuptials 'until the world gets itself together.'

AceShowbiz - Pop star Samantha Jade has called off her wedding for the third time in the past year, citing the unpredictable COVID situation in Australia.

The singer has given up all hope of holding her long-delayed wedding this year, as millions of her fellow Aussies head into lockdown amid a surge in Delta variant cases.

"I was like, 'You know what? Let's not bother,' '' she told Perth Now on Thursday, July 15. "I can't not have my family at my wedding. We are going to put it on hold to see what is going on with COVID."

Having already canceled her nuptials twice, she said, "It's not worth it. First of all it's extremely expensive and it's so heartbreaking to have to put it on hold all the time... Right now it's just on hold until the world gets itself together, I guess."

The "Sweet Talk" hitmaker became engaged to former Sony Music Australia executive Pat Handlin in January 2019. The two reportedly started dating in mid-2017.

This was not the first time Jade talked about delay to her wedding. In May, the 34-year-old singer told The Daily Telegraph's Stellar, "We pushed it three times last year, and then at the end of the year, we were like, let's just not even [try]."

"Because every time I think about it I get excited. I don't want to go into that excited mode, because I hate having to get myself out of that place," she further explained. "We'd started talking about it again... and then Perth went into a lockdown the week after. So it was back to square one."
