The 'Toxic' himaker is reported to have contacted lawyer and former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart in her effort to drop her father Jamie Spears as her conservator.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears has sought out her own high-profile lawyers in a bid to end her 13-year conservatorship.

The "Toxic" singer has reportedly contacted lawyer and former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, who has been named among the top 100 entertainment litigators by both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Britney has signed a document which states, "Pursuant to my statement in open court on June 23, 2021, my rights, and my desire to end the above-referenced conservatorship as to my father Jamie P. Spears, it is my desire to choose and retain my own counsel, at Greenberg, Traurig, LLP as set forth above," according to TMZ.

Rosengart is a partner at Greenberg, Traurig, LLP, and has offices in Los Angeles and New York City.

If the firm agrees to represent Britney, the first order of business will be filing court documents asking to remove her father as conservator of her estate - a role he has held since 2008.

Her co-conservators at Bessemer Trust, manager Larry Rudolph, and court-appointed lawyer Samuel D. Ingham III all resigned from their roles after Britney testified that the conservatorship is "abusive" and called for it to end during a court hearing last month (June 2021).

Samuel had served as Britney's attorney since the beginning of the protective arrangement, which does not allow the singer to drive, spend her own money, or, as she stated in her explosive June 23 testimony, make decisions about reproduction.

In early July, Britney's mother has voiced her support for the singer to choose her own attorney. In a petition she submitted on July 7, Lynne Spears insisted that her daughter "is able to care for her person" and has earned "literally hundreds of millions of dollars as an international celebrity."
