The 'American Idol' alum has gotten at least 50,000 dollars worth of possessions stolen from his Los Angeles home, including designer handbags, when he was in London.

AceShowbiz - Singer and actor Todrick Hall has called in the police after having at least $50,000 (£36,000) worth of possessions stolen from his Los Angeles home.

The former "American Idol" contestant, who is close friends with Taylor Swift, was in London during the recent robbery, which was discovered when one of his pals returned to the property and found a back window had been smashed in.

According to TMZ, the items swiped from Hall's house include designer handbags and personal property, although the star will have to take a full inventory of his belongings to determine if anything else is missing.

A police report was filed with local authorities, who are still investigating the crime.

On Sunday, July 4, Hall turned to Twitter to address the robbery. "I am ok. This happened right after my cat sitter left for the night," he tweeted. "I'm extremely saddened that most likely this was done by someone I know and trust, but my cats are safe...and that's what matters most to me."

Hall has also made use of Instagram to further share his thought on the incident. "Just landed back in America to hundreds of messages and calls from my family and friends," he kicked off his statement. "I am ok and unharmed."

"I'm devastated that someone would do this to me, and even more disturbed to see people celebrating and laughing about it online," he continued. "This happened less than an hour after my cat sitter left my home, and I’m just happy that my cats have all been found and are safe."

"I'm taking a break from social media for a few days to wrap my head around this and get my mind together," he went on to announce. "Be careful who you let in your close circle. They really will put your life and their life on the line just to steal a Louis/Gucci bag. Sad."
