AceShowbiz - Britney Spears has made her first public statement in the wake of her shocking revelations during her conservatorship hearing. Returning to her social media account, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" hitmaker claimed her "pretending" to be okay for years under such arrangement "has actually helped" her.
In an Instagram post uploaded on Thursday, June 24, the 39-year-old pop star shared her "little secret." She penned, "I apologize for pretending like I've been ok the past two years … I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me… but honestly who doesn't want to capture there Instagram in a fun light!!!! Believe it or not pretending that I'm ok has actually helped."
"I'm bringing this to peoples attention because I don't want people to think my life is perfect because IT'S DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL," the former "The X Factor" judge continued sharing her side of the story. She further noted, "If you have read anything about me in the news this week…you obviously really know now it's not !!!!"
Elsewhere in the note, Britney wrote, "I believe as people we all want the fairy tale life and by the way I've posted … my life seems to look and be pretty amazing … I think that's what we all strive for !!!!" The "Baby One More Time" singer went on to reflect on one of her mom Lynne Spears' "best traits" as saying, "No matter how s**tty a day was when I was younger … for the sake of me and my siblings she always pretended like everything was ok."
"So I decided to post this quote today because by golly if you're going through hell … I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence … existence … and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked," Britney elaborated further. "So I've decided to start reading more fairy tales!!!!!" She concluded her post with a quote from Albert Einstein that read, "If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales."
During the court hearing, Britney compared her life under the conservatorship to a "sex trafficking " victim. "In California, the only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking, making anyone work against their will, taking all their possessions away credit card, cash, phone, passport," she told the judge.
Britney claimed she has been "forced" to work "against her will," including a 2018 tour in Las Vegas she agreed to "out of fear." She additionally stated that she wanted to have more children with her boyfriend Sam Asghari but she wasn't able to remove her IUD because of the arrangement. "I have an IUD inside of me so that I don't get pregnant," she told the court. "My team doesn't want me to have any more children."
"It's my wish and dream for all this to end. I honestly don't think anyone would believe me. I thought people would make fun of me. I just want my life back. It's enough," she declared. "All I would honestly like is to sue my family [and] share my story with the world."
