The original TV talent competition show will be the 'America's Got Talent' judge's first new gig since suffering a devastating bike accident in the summer of 2020.

AceShowbiz - Simon Cowell is gearing up to unveil original TV talent competition show "I Walk the Line", his first new gig since suffering a devastating bike accident last summer (2020).

The brains behind "The X Factor" and the global "Got Talent" franchise will head up a panel of judges who will rate singers as they battle it out to win a cash prize.

The top performer of the night will have to decide whether to go home with the money they've earned, or "walk the line" by staying and competing against a new set of performers.

The jackpot increases the longer a contestant stays on the show, but they could leave empty-handed if they're eliminated in the next round of singers.

"It's the kind of decision that will have viewers on the edge of their seats, real event TV. I'm very excited at giving musical talent the opportunity to transform their lives like never before," said Cowell.

According to Britain's Daily Star, each night, the top singer will be offered more money to quit.

The series, which does not yet have a specific premiere date, will be co-produced and co-developed by officials at Cowell's Syco Entertainment and Lifted Entertainment, part of the U.K.'s ITV Studios.

The show is expected to first launch in Cowell's native Britain, although ITV executives plan to sell the format around the world.

"The format Syco and Lifted Entertainment have created has all the makings of quintessential game show entertainment, but with a compelling twist thrown in each show," said Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's head of entertainment.

"It's great to be continuing our working relationship with Simon and I look forward to introducing this edge of your seat musical game show to viewers later in the year."

Cowell, who recently returned to the judges' table on "America's Got Talent", appears to be resuming his typically busy schedule after he was forced to take time off last August when he broke his back in a nasty fall from his electric bike.
