The Academy Award-winning actress channels her inner goddess in a black-and-gold costume while filming the superhero movie on set in Atlanta, Ga with lead actor Zachary Levi.

AceShowbiz - As production on "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" is currently underway, another sneak peek at the upcoming movie has landed online. New pictures taken from the set have revealed the first unofficial look at Helen Mirren as Hespera.

Obtained by Just Jared, the photos captured the Academy Award-winning actress during the filming in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, June 21. Channelling her inner goddess, she donned a black-and-gold costume with a gold headpiece perched on top of her long white hair.

The costume contains armor around the shoulders, chest and waist areas. The character, who is described as a daughter of Atlas, is also armed with a sword that is sheathed on her waist.

Mirren was joined by lead actor Zachary Levi, who sported a full Shazam costume complete with his white cloak, during the filming that day. They were seen sitting on a wooden table seemingly having a meal and talking to each other in between takes.

Earlier that day, director David F. Sandberg unveiled the official image of the full team of the Shazam family in their new superhero suits. They are Adam Brody as adult Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as the adult version of Darla Dudley, Ross Butler as adult Eugene Choi, Grace Fulton as adult Mary Bromfield, and D. J. Cotrona as adult Pedro Pena, in addition to Levi's titular character.

"Shazam 2" will also feature Lucy Liu as Kalypso, the second daughter of the ancient Greek titan Atlas and the sister of Hespera. The two are reported to be potential villains in the movie. Rachel Zegler is additionally cast as another daughter of Atlas.

Meanwhile, Asher Angel returns as the young Billy Batson, with Jack Dylan Grazer reprising his role as Billy's foster brother Freddy. Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews also return to portray Billy's foster mother and father respectively.

Plot details are still kept under tight wraps, but Grazer recently gushed over it. "The script is hilarious. It's funnier than the first one, I'd have to say," he teased fans. "We're getting away with a lot more this time. It's action-packed and it's got twists and turns and it's super-duper fun."

The "Shazam!" sequel is scheduled to come to theaters on June 2, 2023.
