AceShowbiz - One of pioneers in horror genre, Wes Craven is best known for creating the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise and the "Scream" franchise. His other notable works included "The Hills Have Eyes" (1977), "Swamp Thing" (1982) and "Vampire in Brooklyn" (1995). Craven last directed a movie, "Scream 4", in 2011, and little did people know that in the following years after he stepped away from camera, he had a private battle with brain cancer. He passed away on August 30, 2015, four weeks after his 76th birthday.
