The 'Murder on the Dancefloor' hitmaker is being inundated with messages of concern after sharing photo of herself sitting in a hospital bed with a bandage on her head and large gash on left arm.

AceShowbiz - British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has assured fans she is "OK" after going public with her hospitalisation following a biking accident.

The "Murder on the Dancefloor" hitmaker took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 03 to share a black-and-white photo of herself wearing a face mask while sitting in a hospital bed, with a bandage on her head as she held up her left arm to show off a large gash.

In the accompanying caption, the 41-year-old explained she and her husband, rocker Richard Jones, had been cycling along the River Thames in London on Tuesday evening (June 02) when she lost control of her bicycle and fell to the ground.

Ellis-Bextor was subsequently inundated with messages of concern from fans, and she has since updated her post to thank followers for their well wishes, while insisting she will be just fine.

Adding to her existing caption, she wrote, "hello all. Thank you for all the lovely messages. I should have said that the main reason I posted was to thank the incredible folk who stopped and helped (although the sympathy is very cheering) so don't worry I'm ok and being well looked after. Richard has been amazing and the kids are being very sweet. Lots of love."

The couple shares five sons, ranging in age from one to 16.
