Three years after she found herself being a part of the iconic bathroom mirror selfie, the 'Captain Marvel' star hilariously reminds others why she was with the Kardashian sisters in the first place.

AceShowbiz - Brie Larson is apparently unable to forget her experience at the 2017 Met Gala. While Katy Perry lamented over the canceled gala on what should have been fashion's biggest night out, the "Captain Marvel" star looked back at the awkward moment she got included in Kylie Jenner's iconic bathroom mirror selfie.

Sharing the viral photo on Instagram, the 30-year-old actress first noted, "Seems like we're having a #MetBall throwback moment today." She then offered the hilarious backstory of her inclusion by writing, "So I'd to take this time to remind everyone of the year I was trying to wash my hands in the bathroom and ended up in a Kardashian selfie."

The bathroom selfie itself, which defied the event's rule, captured Brie sticking her head slightly above model Slick Woods' shoulder. Other famous faces also making it into the picture included Kylie's sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and a number of other stars, including Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Lily Aldridge, Frank Ocean and A$AP Rocky.

Kylie captioned her epic post, "annual bathroom selfie," while her sister Kim wrote in her own post, "And what would the Met be without that squad pic?! #BathroomSelfieGoals." At the time, Brie has addressed her accidental inclusion by explaining on social media, "I needed to go the bathroom and ended up famous."

While Brie reminisced her past memory of the Gala, fellow star Katy offered fans a taste of what could have been her dress for this year's MET Gala. Through an Instagram post, the "American Idol" judge teased a look at Jean Paul Gaultier's design that suggested a possible tribute to Madonna's iconic cone bra.

The 2020 Met Gala was initially set to take place on May 4 before it got postponed indefinitely because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Held in celebration of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art's 150th anniversary, it should have seen Meryl Streep, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Emma Stone serving as co-chairs. Its theme was "About Time: Fashion and Duration".
