The big cat-rights activist, who found fame through Netflix's "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness", has rarely agreed to do interviews since the success of the docu-series, but Josh Pieters and Archie Manners managed to get her do one under the pretense of them being "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" producers.

The trickster duo uploaded "We Tricked Carole Baskin into Giving Us Her First Interview Since Tiger King" video on YouTube on Sunday, May 3. In it, the pair explained how they managed to pull the stunt after reaching out to her multiple times, and spending hours of compiling old audio clips of host Jimmy Fallon asking questions about cats.

In the nearly-13-minute video, the pair included the behind-the-scenes of Carole's interview that was conducted via Zoom as well as footage of them successfully tricking her into putting on flower crown. It additionally showed Archie being on standby to offer fake reasons should they do not have the right audio bite as a response during the interview.

Explaining to Insider about their precaution method, Josh said, "There is often a moment where there isn't a clip that's suitable. But that's luckily where I have Archie on standby who can come in and act as the producer and say, 'Oh we've got a quick change there, Jimmy's just doing this,' or 'Jimmy's just doing his makeup,' and then it sort of explains why something sort of went wrong."

The fake interview itself heard Carole talking about taking care of her big cats in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. She revealed that while she was forced to dismiss half of her staff because of "the loss of tourism revenue," she still has the support of volunteers. She also gave the prankster pair a number of never-before-seen images.

Speaking of their stunt, Josh noted, "I think she did an interview for a local paper in Tampa where she's from. But this was her first worldwide exclusive interview, which is just quite something." He added, "We really did not expect it to work. We still can't really believe we managed to interview Carole Baskin."
