The CNN host, who revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 more than two weeks ago, has shared in a new interview that his wife also contracted the novel virus.

AceShowbiz - Chris Cuomo's nightmare has come true. Two weeks after sharing the bad news that he has contracted coronavirus, the CNN anchor announced that his wife, Cristina Greeven Cuomo, has now tested positive for the novel COVID-19 that has infected more than 2 million people around the world.

The 49-year-old TV journalist opened up about Christina's condition during an interview with his older brother and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. "Cristina now has covid. She is now positive. And it just breaks my heart. It's the one thing I was hoping wouldn't happen. And now it has," he said during the Wednesday, April 15 episode of his "Cuomo Prime Time" show.

"Obviously I've been a little bit of a mess about it today so I've been talking to Andrew about it a lot. The person who's not upset is Cristina," he further shared. "Cristina takes everything in stride and so far we're hoping, and a lot of this anecdotal because we don't know that much, she lost her sense of smell and taste. This is not science, but anecdotally the case that I hear about that are more mild tend to have that. I didn't have that."

Chris later turned to Instagram to share clip from the interview. Along with it, he noted, "Families all over know the reality our family faces: few are one case and done. Sure enough, Cristina has covid now. Kids are still healthy but this shook us at our literal core. All are stepping up. Can't wait to shake this fever so I can help her as she helped me. Sucks."

The former co-anchor for ABC's "20/20" revealed that he was among those who have tested positive for the novel virus in late March. In a statement he released via Instagram, he has already expressed concern that he might be the one causing his family to catch the virus as well.

"I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had a fever, chills and shortness of breath," he wrote. "I just hope I didn't give it to the kids and (wife) Cristina. That would make me feel worse than the illness! I am quarantined in my in my basement (which actually makes the rest of the family seem pleased!)."
