The 'Saturday Night Live' star announces his good deed via Instagram in honor of his grandmother who died of coronavirus, while asking Mayor Bill de Blasio, Governor Andrew Cuomo and Diddy to work together with him and 'fix this.'

AceShowbiz - Michael Che is turning his grief into inspiration to help others in need in this time of crisis. The funnyman, who recently lost his grandmother to coronavirus, has announced that he will be paying a one-month rent for 160 apartments in the New York City Housing Authority building (NYCHA) where she used to live in.

"Its (sic) crazy to me that residents of public housing are still expected to pay their rent when so many new Yorkers cant (sic) even work," Che began his Wednesday, April 15 post. "Obviously I cant offer much help by myself. But in the spirit and memory of my late grandmother, im paying one months rent for all 160 apartments in the NYCHA building she lived in."

"i know that's just a drop in the bucket," the "Saturday Night Live" star humbly added, before imploring, "So I really hope the city has a better plan for debt forgiveness for all the people in public housing, AT THE VERY LEAST."

He then called on New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as well as hip-hop mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs to work together with him and do more to handle the crisis. "Ps deblasio! Cuomo! Diddy! Lets fix this! Page me!" so he concluded his statement.

Michael revealed earlier this month that his grandmother had passed away due to COVID-19. In a now-deleted Instagram post captioned "i swear, im fine," the 36-year-old stand-up comedian began his open letter by admitting that he is "obviously very hurt and angry" that his grandmother "had to go through all that pain alone." Still, he added, "But I'm also happy that she's not in pain anymore. And I also feel guilty for feeling happy."

Venting his frustration over conspiracy theories surrounding the pandemic, he sarcastically wrote, "I actually believe this is 5G poisoning, and not because I've done any research on this, or even understand what 5G really is." He continued, "I just refuse to believe I lost my sweet, beautiful grandma because some n***a ate a bat one time. I'm sorry. Even if that IS in fact how this all started. I'm just not willing to accept that right now. F**k that. I need a better story."
