In the Instagram post shared by Marilyn, the 'Tiger King' star informed the rocker that he is running for Governor of Oklahoma and is asking permission to use his name as an endorsement.

AceShowbiz - "Tiger King" star Joe Exotic asked Marilyn Manson to endorse him when he ran for the position of Governor of Oklahoma in 2018.

Released last month (March) on Netflix, "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness" follows the exploits of Joe, a prolific tiger breeder, who ran a popular illegal zoo in Oklahoma - and the docuseries proved a huge hit with streaming service fans on lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic.

While he's currently serving 22 years in jail for plotting to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin and other wildlife violations, Joe was previously in the running for Governor of Oklahoma - and even asked rocker Marilyn Manson to endorse him.

Taking to Instagram, the 51-year-old, real name Brian Warner, shared a message he claims to have previously received from Joe, 57.

"Hey. Thanks for the follow. I'm running for Governor of Oklahoma and trying to speak for the real people for a change and get some people to help with an addiction in this State that no one cares about," the message read. "Would you endorse me? Not asking for money. Just to use your name as an endorsement."

Marilyn responded: "Nope. Don't F**k With Cats."

Joe lost in the primary election on 26 June, 2018. He received 664 votes, finishing last out of three candidates who ran for the position.

Meanwhile, "Saturday Night Live" regular Kate McKinnon announced last year (19) she will star in a limited TV series, based on the "Joe Exotic: Tiger King" podcast produced by Wondery.

Kate will portray Baskin. Dax Shepard and Edward Norton are among the stars who have put themselves forward to play Joe.
