AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have responded to President Donald Trump's tweet about security costs following their relocation to the U.S. from Canada. In the Saturday, March 28 post, Trump made it clear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to pay for their own security protection while living in the States.

"I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada," he wrote on the micro-blogging site. "Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!"

It seemed like Trump was under the impression that the pair would ask the U.S. to cover their security cost after reading an article from Daily Mail. The site claimed that according a royal source revealed that they would have to "plead" with the president for protection.

Also responding to the article was "The View" co-host Meghan McCain. "With all the struggle and pain in this country as we are possibly headed into a second Great Depression, this has GOT to be a joke. We are NOT using average American taxpayer dollars to pay for their security detail. Why isn’t this England's problem?" she tweeted.

Meghan and Harry appeared to catch wind of the tweets before responding on Sunday. Chris Ship, royal correspondent for British television network ITV, wrote on Twitter, "A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan has just told us that 'The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made.' "

Meghan and Harry, alongside their 10-month-old son Archie, reportedly ad left their Vancouver Island residence in Canada as they had decided to settle down in Meghan's hometown of Los Angeles, United of States. It was said that the couple chose to live "in a secluded compound" in the City of Angels, where Meghan's mother Doria Ragland also lives. The two allegedly "haven't ventured out" during the coronavirus crisis."
