Ted Beckham, who are currently self-isolating with Hilary Meredith, first met his fiancee through their charity work for army veterans around 17 years after he and David's mother Sandra divorced.

In a joint statement with his new fiancee, solicitor Hilary Meredith, the couple, who are currently self-isolating amid the coronavirus pandemic at home in Cheshire, England, said: "While there are far more important things going on in the world right now, we are thrilled to say that we are happily engaged."
"Stay safe everyone."
Ted and Hilary met last year (19) through their charity work for army veterans at Broughton House Veteran Care Village. The 71-year-old was previously married to David's mother Sandra, and they divorced in 2002 after 32 years of marriage.
In his autobiography, "David Beckham: My Son", Ted said the soccer star's fame was a catalyst for the breakdown of his previous marriage, writing: "All the hype, all the stress, all the attention - it wasn't a world we were used to and it was very tough."
"I don't think we were really prepared for it - although I'm not sure there's much you can do to prepare yourself," he added. "You just get swept along in it and bowled along. But it does wear you down."
Ted and Sandra share three children - son David, and daughters Lynne and Joanne.
