The 'Reality Bites' star is slapped with the new assault and battery suit months after he pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour sexual battery charge relating to the 2019 incident.

AceShowbiz - Comedian Andy Dick is facing an assault and battery lawsuit from a Lyft driver who alleges he grabbed his crotch when in his car back in 2018.

The star pleaded not guilty last October to a misdemeanour sexual battery charge relating to the incident last October (19), but is now facing a civil suit from the driver.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by The Blast, on 12 April, 2018, the Lyft employee claims he picked Andy up in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, but was groped during the journey.

"Defendant Andy dick negligently touched, caressed, groped, fondled, molested Plaintiff while Defendant was a co-defendant LYFT, Inc passenger in the 2010 Toyota Prius owned and driven by Plaintiff while in the employ and working for co-defendant LYFT, Inc," the lawsuit reads.

The outcome of the criminal case is unclear, but at the time Dick's lawyer demanded its dismissal due to the time that had passed since the incident and the "Reality Bites" star's arrest on an outstanding warrant.

According to the new lawsuit, the Lyft driver is also suing the rideshare company, claiming it did not have the correct security procedures in place to protect him.

The 54-year-old has a long history of addiction issues and trouble with the law over lewd behaviour and sexual misconduct, having been arrested for indecent exposure and sexual battery in the past.

He also avoided jail for groping a woman in the street last year when he cut a plea deal in July that meant he had to complete 15 days of community service and spend the next 36 months on summary probation.
