Three days after the South American country issued border closure, the Twisted Sister frontman shares his thought on Americans being stuck in foreign countries amid coronavirus pandemic.

AceShowbiz - Rocker Dee Snider is worried about his daughter after revealing she's among several hundred Americans stuck in Peru after officials shut their borders in an effort to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
The Twisted Sister star took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 18), three days after Peru's president Martin Vizcarra issued a 15-day nationwide state of emergency and border closure, and confessed he has no idea when his daughter, Cheyenne, will be able to leave.
"These are really difficult times for everybody all over the world...," he said in a video he posted. "There are literally thousands of American citizens stuck in foreign countries under quarantine and not being allowed to return home."
"I know this because my daughter, Cheyenne, is one of over 800 stuck in Peru right now. The borders have been closed. There are no flights going out, and they're not being let out. And while my daughter is safe at this time, she's in a remote part of Peru."
Snider insisted his daughter will be fine because she has the financial means to survive in indefinite lockdown, but many Americans stuck overseas aren't so lucky.
"They're all tourists," he added. "They're all visitors. Most were on vacations, or journeys, or trips, encouraged by foreign countries to come visit. They did, and now they're locked in. And my daughter, like I said, she is safe, but we've got to do better. We've got to help our own."
"I understand that we need to be quarantined; I understand we need to protect our borders; but we should be able to be quarantined within our own countries. And foreign countries should be going out of their way to help foreigners get out of their countries and back home so they can be with their loved ones during these trying times."
According to CNN, U.S. Embassy officials have issued guidelines to American citizens who have not been able to reschedule their flights out of Peru, urging them to arrange lodging for the duration of the quarantine period, monitor the embassy website, and check in with airline staff for updated information.
"The welfare and safety of U.S. citizens is our top priority," a statement reads.
