While some people lash out at the 'Bodak Yellow' hitmaker for wearing a fur coat to the star-studded basketball match, some of her fans claim that it's fake.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B has once again sparked a chatter online over her fashion. The rapper, who is known for her extravagant style, caused a debate after sporting a lavish fur coat to the NBA All-Star game in Chicago on Sunday, February 16.

The 27-year-old star paired her expensive-looking coat with cream-colored halterneck shirt, white pants and yellow ochre boots. She also rocked long purple wig and carried a purple handbag, with long nails in matching color.

Cardi proudly showed off her looks for the occasion on Instagram by posting her photo on Sunday. She captioned it, "From the block." One person dubbed her "Queen of style."

And while many others have raved over her style in the picture, not a few took issue with her fur coat. "Fur," one person, who appears to be against the use of fur, simply pointed out in the comment section. Another chastised her, "Real fur @iamcardib ? Come on now, it's 2020."

A third user chimed in, "hopefully fake honey." Another commented on Twitter, "Real fur. Nasty." An angry animal rights supporter wrote, "Poor animal that got [killed] to make that fur coat she's using."

However, some fans have come in Cardi's defense, with one writing, "Apparently confirmed fake, I really hope that is true. I love everything about this woman!" Another fired back at the critics, "No animal got killed dummy. It's faux fur."

Indeed, Lavish Furs, which made the custom coat for the Bronx femcee, has confirmed that it is "faux fur." Reposting Cardi's photo on its own Instagram page, the company wrote, "Tonight All Star Game @iamcardib rocking a custom faux fur from us @lavish_furs x @prettyhairweave."

Back in November 2019, Cardi was involved in a similar controversy after wearing a fur coat at Beautycon. The "I Like It" hitmaker wore a vintage Paco Rabanne coat with a custom Sarah Sokol hat and Casadei shoes, prompting PETA to post, "Fur is never okurrrr @Cardib."

Her stylist Kollin Carter, who dressed her for the event, claimed that he received death threats for the fur coat. Responding to the criticism, he wrote on Instagram, "PETA and their supporters are one of the most hateful activists groups out there. I've been called a n***a and gotten death threats because I chose to put my client in fur .... ridiculous."
