In a new interview, the 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' star opens up about being a 'new man' following a car accident that almost took his life back in September 2019.

AceShowbiz - Kevin Hart feels like a new man having survived a near-fatal car crash. Five months after being involved in the horrific accident that severely injured his back, the "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star credited the incident for being a "resurrection" of his life.

Gracing the cover of Men's Health magazine for its March issue, the 40-year-old comedian talked about getting better. "It's a resurrection," he pointed out. "That's the best way for me to put it. I feel like the other version of myself died in that moment and this new version was born to understand and to do better."

The "Night School" actor went on explaining, "Sometimes you're not going to get it when you're supposed to get it. But when it comes and that light bulb goes off, holy f**k." In the interview, he further stressed his goal, stating, "I'm not trying to get back to where I was before - I want to be better than before."

"I'm on the road to becoming the best version of myself," Hart noted. "And I thought I was on the right road, but something happened. F**k, I see now that I need to make a U-turn and go two blocks, then make a left. That's the road I'm supposed to be on. So I still have many of the same goals, but now I'm just going down a different road to get there."

Speaking about what he remembered about the September 2019 crash, Hart confessed, "I can't tell you nothing about it. Isn't that scary?" He added, "The first thing I remember is being in the ambulance with my wife."

On what went though his mind when he was in the hospital, the "Central Intelligence" star shared, "It all boiled down to four walls. And in the space of those four walls was my wife and my brother, my kids and my friends, all on rotation." He continued, "And I got a chance to think about what matters, and it's not fame. It's not money. It's not jewelry, cars, or watches."

"What matters are relationships," the stand-up comedian stressed. "You know, the people that were helping me get up and out of the bed. The biggest realization came from something somebody told me, 'You can't be married to your career and date your family.' That blew me the f**k away."

Hart admitted that the accident made him realize that he needed to put his family as a priority. "Now I'm doing a lot of little things that are important," he spilled. "I'm sitting with the kids before and after dinner. We are doing taco Tuesdays, Mexican-food Thursdays, Chinese-food Sundays. We got movie night twice a week. Now I'm walking my fucking dog. I'm picking up dog s**t."
